APPLICANTS
Because of the many different societies M’akola has, the application process depends on what housing you are applying for.
In general, the eligibility is as follows:
- Those of Aboriginal ancestry(MLHS includes Non-Aboriginal People)
- Families with children(except Jesken Aerie & Tonto-Rosette)
- Must present obvious need; financial or living in unacceptable conditions
- Must have lived in BC for a minimum of six months

How to apply for the above complexes:
» Contact your local M’akola office ,or
» Download application form and bring to your local office.
Once application form is complete and processed, income will be verified and references will be checked. You will then be put on the waitlist and contacted when a unit becomes available.
How to Keep your Application Current
All applicants are responsible for providing updated information, for example: new phone/message number, address, income changes, etc. in order to keep their file active. When an applicant is being considered for an available unit, our office will contact the applicant. When attempts to contact an applicant are unsuccessful, the applicant’s file will be considered inactive and the applicant will be removed from the waitlist. Therefore it is important to phone or write to inform M’akola immediately of any change in information given on your application. Applicants must have contact with the office at least once a year for their application to remain current and active.
