EXECUTIVE:

Kevin Albers, CGA, CAFM, Chief Executive Officer:
Kevin has been with the M’akola Group of Societies since June 1997.  He was originally hired as Finance Officer for the Society and since 2001 as the Executive Director.  Kevin holds the professional designations of Certified General Accountant (“CGA”) and Certified Aboriginal Finance Manager (“CAFM”).   Kevin also sits on the Board of Surrounded by Cedar Child and Family Services as the Treasurer/Secretary.

FINANCE DEPARTMENT:

Dan Stark, CGA, Chief Financial Officer
Dan has been with the M’akola Group of Societies since the end of August 2007. Originally from Winnipeg, he is a Certified General Accountant (“CGA”) with an extensive finance and real estate background. Dan oversees the financial operations of the Societies and manages a staff of three in the Finance Department. He works closely with the Executive Director in order to achieve the goals and objectives of the various Societies.

Michele Nault McIsaac, B.A.E.T.: Project Manager
Michele is originally from Saskatchewan and has lived and worked for many years in Victoria. Michele in her professional career has worked in the fields of health and education. Michele has education and experience as a counselor. She has consistently updated her knowledge of health and wellness. She recently completed further education in Human Resource Development. Michele has been an active volunteer in health, recreation and community service.

Jennifer Bilsbarrow, South Island Regional Property Manager:
[Now manages Rural Native Housing for the South Island region]
Jennifer Bilsbarrow is from Northwestern Ontario and Métis, she brings many years of experience in the field of economic development, housing services, and advocacy to the M'akola Group of Societies. Her background includes property management and program development with the Victoria Native Friendship Centre from 2002 to 2006 prior to that she managed the Duncan Community Law Office and was the Paralegal there from 1994 to 2002. Before moving to Victoria Jennifer lived in Northwestern Ontario where she worked with the Bands in economic development and social programs.

MID ISLAND:

Yvonne Haggard, Mid Island Regional Property Manager:

Yvonne Haggard has been with M'akola since 2005, first as the Tenant Relations Liaison and then as Regional Property Manager for Nanaimo and Port Alberni.  Yvonne brings with her extensive knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act as she was an Information Officer for 10 years in both Nanaimo and Victoria.  Yvonne has also been working towards her Certification from the Justice Institute in conflict resolutions, mediation and negotiation.  She has been married for 31 years and has two grown children and three grandchildren that she spends most of her free time with, as well as traveling and participating in sports.
* Yvonne resides in Nanaimo, travels to Port Alberni weekly

Pam Black, North Island Regional Property Manager:

Pam is the Regional Property Manager of 195 affordable rental units in Courtenay and Campbell River.   She has been employed with M’akola Leasehold Housing Society since 1999 and enjoys working with the families who reside in M’akola Housing. When not working Pam enjoys the outdoors and skiing with her family.
